Fasting
Fasting is defined as the voluntary refusal of food for a predetermined period of time. Fasting has many proposed medicinal benefits, and it is also used in religious practices and political protest. Some fasting advocates claim that the food eaten in modern life continuously aggravates the internal environment of the body. Such constant irritation may manifest as lupus, arthritis, and other skin conditions.Proponents of fasting believe that this therapy removes many toxins from the body. During fasting, the body undergoes changes, which allow it to cleanse and flush out these toxins.
Most people drink juice and/or supplemental teas during their fast, however juice may not be recommended during medical fasts. Some people only drink water during their fast.
